Aberdeen Research Operation

Aberdeen Research Operation

Overview

The Aberdeen Research Operation encompasses two groups, the longstanding Research and Analysis Group, and the more recently formed U.S. Army Research Laboratory Systems Engineering Technical Assistance Group. Both Groups support various research and development, modeling and simulation, vulnerability/lethality analyses, methodology development, forensic chemistry, and much more related to vehicle systems survivability, material technologies, manufacturing science, terminal effects technologies, protection concepts, and weapon systems lethality for various U.S. Department of Defense organizations including the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Centers, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

The Research and Analysis Group has morphed over SURVICE’s history to include expanded roles prior to realigning back to vulnerability/lethality analyses, Live Fire test & evaluation support, research and development, and modeling and simulation with the creation of the Aberdeen Research Operation.  The U.S. Army Research Laboratory Systems Engineering Technical Assistance Group was formed in 2016 after SURVICE was awarded a contract supporting the U.S. Army Research Laboratory’s Weapons and Materials Research Directorate and we continue to perform innovative and foundational research for the DEVCOM Army Research Directorate.
