SURVICE Engineering Senior BD Associate & U.S. Army SGM (Ret) Rodney Rhoades reflects on what Memorial Day means to him after serving 32 years in the U.S. Army, with 3.5 years spent deployed in various combat zones:

“As service members and veterans reflect on Memorial Day, we reminisce upon our brothers and sisters we lost during and due to combat. We hope that our nation always remembers the sacrifices of those service members who paid the ultimate price for the freedoms we enjoy each and every day. Additionally, what I reflect on is the emotional impact Memorial Day has on our Gold Star Families and service members living with PTSD and survivor's syndrome, as this day is particularly emotional for them. As you spend time with your families, please take a moment to remember those that gave their lives for our country.”
