Bel Air, MD – On Friday, May 17, SURVICE participated in the Harford County Department of Community Services’ annual Bike to Work Day. The local event was part of a national Bike to Work Day and a Clean Commute Month initiative to promote a healthy and environmentally friendly way to commute to work. At total of 14 SURVICE employees biked from various locations around Harford County to the Government Administration Building in downtown Bel Air, MD, with some traveling as far as 15 miles to the event. The group, outfitted in matching SURVICE cycling jerseys, then pedaled an additional 10 miles to SURVICE’s corporate headquarters in Belcamp, MD.
The event also included the Cycle Smackdown competition, in which employees from Harford County businesses and organizations compete to get the most registrants to participate. SURVICE won the mid-size company trophy. Ecotone, Inc., won the small-size company category, and Upper Chesapeake Health System won the large-size company category.
This is SURVICE’s second year to participate in the Bike to Work event, which supports the company’s overall green initiative and introduces employees to alternative ways to commute to work. Click here to read more on the event and Clean Commute Month.
