Laurel, MD – On May 30, the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) announced that Dr. James Walbert, SURVICE’s Chief Scientist, has been selected as the 2013 recipient of the Arthur Stein Award. The award, which is given in recognition of lifetime achievement in Live Fire Test and Evaluation (LFT&E), will be presented at NDIA’s biennial LFT&E Conference at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, MD, on July 8. Dr. Walbert’s selection is based on his nearly 40 years of DoD T&E experience and accomplishments, including notable achievements as an interior and exterior ballistician, a vulnerability/lethality tester and analyst, a materials engineer, and an author and educator. Dr. Walbert was previously awarded NDIA’s 2011 Walter Hollis Award for lifetime achievement in Defense T&E. Congratulations, Jim!
