SURVICE employee Aaron Wawrzyniak recently gave a cybersecurity/phishing awareness talk at the CCPL Perryville Branch for Maryland STEM Festival 2023.
After his phishing awareness talk and explaining what a firewall is, the audience (teens aged 13-17) built “firewalls” using pasta/marshmallows/putty around their “system” (a plastic bucket) and took turns “hacking” by throwing plastic bugs at the firewalls to see if their system remained “secure.”
The activity was planned by CCPL Perryville Branch Teen Services Staff. We are proud to have had the opportunity to bring more awareness to young students interested in STEM!
