On June 3, SURVICE participated in the 12th Annual GOLF4STEM Education Tournament, which was hosted by The Northeastern Maryland Technology Council (NMTC). The tournament brings attention to and raises funds for STEM initiatives in the surrounding community. As with years past, a portion of the funds was donated to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Harford and Cecil Counties.
Following the golfing, SURVICE conducted a small technology demonstration by taking to the skies with our tactical resupply vehicle (TRV). By using the TRV-80 variant, we were tasked with selecting the 50/50 raffle winner by way of a closest-to-the-pin competition. The TRV-80 autonomously took to the air, made its way to the predetermined drop coordinates, and released numbered foam golf balls above the 9th green. The lucky winner was presented with a hobbyist’s drone and will receive some flying lessons from our drone subject matter experts.
