Representatives from the newly established Defense Systems Information Analysis Center (DSIAC), which is being operated by a team led by SURVICE, participated in the annual Reliability and Maintainability Symposium (RAMS) in Colorado Springs, CO, from January 27 to 29. For the 60th consecutive year, RAMS provided opportunities for more than 400 global reliability and maintainability practitioners to participate in focused technical presentations, tutorials, panel sessions, networking opportunities, and exhibits. This year’s theme was “Engineering Customer Trust.”
The symposium provided DSIAC with its first public opportunity to announce/discuss the transformation and consolidation of six legacy Information Analysis Center (IACs), including the Reliability Information Analysis Center (RIAC), into the new DSIAC as part of the Department of Defense’s “Better Buying Power” initiative. The integration of legacy RIAC technical inquiries, core analysis tasks, and reliability and maintainability products and standards into the DSIAC portfolio is expected to be completed by April 2014.
